WE ASK EACH MEMBER TO
Fill out the Praxis membership form HERE
Membership means belonging - we are in this together.
As an annual community celebration and co-learning opportunity, the Praxis Project seeks members, not customers. In becoming a member of the Praxis community, one is asked to commit to a volunteer "membershift". This commitment brings to life the values of co-operation, response-ability, and care that underscore our gathering by sharing some of the workload amongst all participants, while increasing camaraderie and fostering moments to build your connections. Essentially we're creating a temporary village where we all have a part in every aspect. All members step up, whether it's playing music, cooking amazing food, facilitating a discussion, bringing an art installation, teaching a hands on lesson, or stocking poopers with TP.
We are changing our prices to help support our membershift program, and keep our festival at a low cost, and to help meet everyones needs. Your membershift is a mandatory commitment. By having everyone on site participate in the daily activities necessary for the gathering, we keep our costs down and increase our capacity to organize, work together and build new systems. At Navdanya's Earth University, this practice is called "Shramdan", which is social service within and for the community for our mutual development and well-being.
We want to acknowledge that some of the members don't want to do this, so we have created a new category for someone to purchase entry without committing to a membershift; those who choose this will be supporting praxis more economically, and we thank you for that. We want to be inclusive and this change supports our ethos of a truly non-profit, volunteer run community based gathering.
All our events are membership-based private events, and all people showing up without a membership will be asked to sign a waiver and become a member before joining the festivities. Please purchase a membership prior to attending our events for a smoother experience. Your annual membership may get you "free" access to some events, but not all events we host are "free" to members, some events have costs (like our Praxis Project NB main annual event).
Remember our locations are practicing a leave-no-trace event where we do not put out garbage cans or recycling bins, and expect you to return home with what you bring to the site. This way you help minimize our impact on the land. We have developed most of our site to mitigate the foot traffic impact by placing biomass (woodchips/mulch) on pathways, camping sites, our regenerative dancefloor and our dining areas, and are thus nearly flood free all year round. This helps us ensure we follow the laws, and have enough food for all....
This year we are offering day rates and RV parking.
