In 2014 we had our first "Praxis", as two annual renditions of "everyone is a teacher" style outdoor gatherings without entertainment, in a bare field.
In 2017 we started the 5 year "Praxis Project" annual permaculture inspired art festival, as you've seen us :)
Now achieved.. we NEED TO CELEBRATE !!
In the spirit of family and relationship building, native & revolutionary ecology, regenerative economies, earth democracy, knowledge sharing & collectivism, we are creating opportunities to bring people together (week before / after as well) in the hopes that this will tighten our wide network, build relationships through non-ordinary moments, provide an example to our kids and each other of a safer, really really green event, open our individual minds, strengthen our bioregion, and connect us to beyond.... oh and a solid full moon weekend in summer here, with fires, music, dance and food is always quality :)
This event is a private event and all people showing up without an RSVP will be turned away at gate. Remember this is a real leave-no-trace event where we do not put out garbage cans or recycling bins, and expect you to return home with what you bring to the site. This way we minimize our impact on the land.

ENTERTAINMENT
48+h of nature immersion woven with amazing food, people and music will "fill your bucket".
Come join us over the 12th of August, after a day of workshops and amazing food, for a Full Moon grounding campfire paired with acoustic music from all over the province; Mike Humble of Earth Bound & chickahominy, Jasmine Wong of Womb to Tomb alongside local seven and praxis co-founder Blank Space on the beatbox (more tba).
Than on Saturday August 13th, after the whole day of workshops and nature immersion and sunset suppers, there is a celebratory dance party! Stay Saturday evening, into the night, with 6+h of Live music from Neil Morash (LOOPS), TESTAMENT (LIBERATION RAPS), Blank Space (BEATBOX) tailed with a beautiful mix of DJs; Mandala Ataksak (BASS), Fractal Code (Alien WUBS), DJ LEETO (DOWNTEMPO) from across Atlantic Canada all converging on our successfully regenerating, regenerative dancefloor built at founding praxis projects :)
Our entertainment does not happen simultaneous to the education. Thursday evening (AUG 11th) is available for those volunteers wanting to have a pre-event large campfire and acoustic jamborie of sorts. Friday and Saturday food is served at sunset, than opens into a night of music lined up with fires around the site. We will throw seeds on Saturday night to dance into the ground, as to continue the tradition of upkeeping the regenerative dancefloor :) Sunday there may be a local community tour :D !!
EDUCATION
All workshops are being confirmed and will be posted here soon. Plans are in motion confirming 15+ lessons intended for Friday and Saturday 8am-7pm, including a permaculture site tour and a local landshare initiative neighbourhood tour (sun). all workshops/discussions will be available to all age groups.
MEMBERSHIP
This is a membership-based, collectively organized annual gathering on private land. Membership means belonging- we are in this together. I also means "all inclusive" as you cannot pay more/less for a different experience; all workshops, food and entertainment is provided with that initial investment into this member based project. Finally and most importantly, it keeps our gatherings affordable by sharing some of the workload amongst all participants, while increasing camaraderie and fostering moments to build your connections. Attendees will be asked to sign up for a "volunteer membershift" in one of the daily operations necessary for the gathering to actively live up to our Leave No Trace policy.
By becoming a member, you make a pledge to come as you are, ready to participate. We do not collect extra money during the event.
VENDING
This year we do provide a vending/sales opportunity Sunday afternoon to our members, for $20-$50 sliding scale (meaning you decide what you can afford). This is offered around the garden and forest. there is no indoor space, so please come prepared for all weather. If you wish to be part of this, pls tell us at - [email protected]
FOOD
Each Membership gets access to 2 large handcrafted vegan meals served Friday & Saturday. Brunch and sunset supper will fill our large cedar dining tables for our members. We highly encourage you to bring your own snacks and special foods to meet those special needs.!! Clean well water provided. If you drink coffee, this year we are not offering coffee, pls bring your own coffee and a way to make it. You are allowed to bring a stove of your own, but we do not allow open fires. We will offer a fire you can put your kettle on. Please bring your own dishes and water bottle; there is a dishwashing site active during the food servings.
Volunteers for set up the days before, and tear down the days after, get high quality homemade meals as well ;)
Come early if you like good nutrient dense food, meeting people, helping earth based projects, we love our food :D !!

DISCLAIMERS
Covid
We want you all to be safe, and in this day in age we must communicate to be safe. Please ask before you touch another member: Consent Rules! In general, we ask that all members respect the space of other attendees, giving them as much space as they want; DONT FORGET TO ASK ;) We are an open air event with sorta loud music, so we can be a little farther away from each other and probably get a better dance-on. Sanitizer will be provided at multiple locations onsite, but you must bring your own personal protective equipment (masks, etc) if you feel the need (we are not able to provide this). We encourage 'Courageous Conversations' and ongoing enthusiastic consent.
Attendance
Being transparent :) We expect an aprox max of 75 people in attendance, if everyone was in one place at once. We are selling no more than 100 tickets, and want you to know that if this or anything else makes you uncomfortable we will refund your ticket anytime before noon on Thursday. Thank you for understanding, and doing your best to keep yourself and others safer.
Fire & Heated spaces
Here we are nearing fall and the weather in the eve turns cool. Bring a sweater and a change of clothes. We have one burn barrel for light and heat near the dancefloor (covered), a medium sized firepit in the forest dining room (covered), and a large open fire pit in the field (not covered). The house is off limits; thanks for understanding.
Rain & Heatwaves
If we see rain or a heatwave in the forecast we want to tell you we will cover our entire dancefloor! Also, due to the site's permaculture design, there won't be flooded pathways to trudge through, regardless of rains. We are also covering our serving/kitchen area, as well as the forest firepit, and the outdoor dining tables. Other covered spaces exist on our site as well, and with a gathering this size, we'll still have a lot of space to dance under the stars!
